    What our clients say

    01

We spent the most incredible day exploring Pampelonne Beach and the coves around Cap Taillat. The Axopar is a dream to drive. The team at the port was super helpful with the briefing. Will definitely be back!

Took a group of 10 friends for a birthday celebration. The Lomac 9.0 was perfect — spacious, fast, and comfortable. We anchored off L'Escalet for lunch and it was absolutely magical.

    FAQ

    Questions about L'Escalet

How do I reach L'Escalet by boat from Sainte-Maxime?+
Depart from Sainte-Maxime port, head south along the coast towards Ramatuelle. Allow around 25 minutes of sailing. L'Escalet cove is easily spotted by its distinctive flat rocks and maritime pines.
    Can you anchor off L'Escalet?+
Yes, anchorage is available in front of the cove on a sand and rock bottom, 3-6 metres depth. The site is sheltered from the Mistral but exposed to easterly winds. In calm conditions, it's one of the finest anchorages on the peninsula. Watch for marked swimming zones in summer.
    Is L'Escalet good for snorkelling?+
L'Escalet is a snorkelling paradise. The flat rocks on each side of the cove create natural pools with visibility exceeding 15 metres. Expect to see sea bream, wrasse, octopus, and sea anemones. Bring your own mask and fins — there are no rentals on site.
How much does a boat trip to L'Escalet cost?+
Half-day from 350 EUR, full day from 550 EUR (per boat, shared among passengers). Skipper extra: +200 EUR half-day, +400 EUR full day. The itinerary can be combined with Pampelonne, Gigaro and Cap Taillat.
When is the best season to visit L'Escalet by boat?+
May to October, with peak beauty in June and September: warm water, moderate crowds and ideal light. July-August offers the warmest seas but the cove gets busier. Off-season (April, November), the anchorage remains accessible in fair weather.
Do I need a skipper to go to L'Escalet?+
A skipper is optional. If you hold a boat licence and have coastal navigation experience, you can go on your own — the route is straightforward and the anchorage easy. A skipper is recommended for beginners or for combining several coves in a single day.
