    About Pampelonne Beach

Pampelonne Beach (Plage de Pampelonne) is a 4.5-kilometre stretch of pristine white sand located in Ramatuelle, just south of Saint-Tropez. It is widely regarded as the most famous beach on the French Riviera and one of the most iconic beaches in the world.

Made famous in 1956 when Brigitte Bardot filmed And God Created Woman nearby, Pampelonne quickly became the playground of the international jet set. Today, it is home to over 25 beach clubs and restaurants, ranging from ultra-exclusive (Club 55, Nikki Beach) to relaxed family-friendly spots.

The beach faces east, offering morning sun and calm, turquoise waters protected from the Mistral wind. The seabed is sandy and gently sloping — perfect for swimming and water sports. The water is consistently ranked among the cleanest in the Mediterranean.

Getting to Pampelonne by road in summer is notoriously difficult: traffic jams on the narrow D93 road can last 1-2 hours, and parking is scarce and expensive (€6-15/day). A boat rental from Saint-Tropez takes just 15 minutes, dropping you directly at the beach — no traffic, no parking, no stress.
